NABOR PARTNERS WITH REBUILD NORTHWEST FLORIDA
REBUILD Northwest Florida is continuing its mission of preparing the community to better withstand future hurricanes. They want the process of applying to be as convenient for Santa Rosa County residents as possible. Recognizing it may be inconvenient for some to visit their office, the organization is partnering with NABOR to bring the application team to the Navarre... area.

Pop in to the NABOR office September 1, 2015 
between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  or visit their website to informally find out more, and if you are interested in moving forward bring the following to expedite the process:
• 2 Forms of I.D.
• Flood Insurance Policy (if in flood zone)
• $200 deposit

Important Key box Exchange Information - We're Upgrading To The Best Technology Available!

Please reserve the morning *of September 22nd to facilitate the exchange of your blue lockboxes.
 
This is a very big task for the association.  We have contracted with Supra for 30 of their staff to service the exchange efficiently and quickly so as to cause our membership the least possible inconvenience. 


It is imperative that everyone makes every effort to exchange their boxes on the event date.  This is a one for one swap, boxes requiring exchange after the event date will be exchanged two old boxes for one new one.  Boxes not exchanged will no longer be warrantied and access may eventually be denied.


WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
 
1)  Check the schedule BELOW for your appointment on 9/22.
2)  Be prepared to collect your boxes and transport them to the exchange. Staff will be on hand to assist with heavy loads.
3)  Nearer to the event, it might be prudent to annotate on any of your listings if the property is not lock box accessible, and that alternative showing times or entry arrangements should be made.
4)  If you have showings yourself on September 22nd, be sure to confirm access arrangements with the listing agent.
 
Check your inventory - if you have bought boxes from another agent, the boxes must be in our system and in your name to affect a one for one exchange.  The cost of reassigning boxes is $10 per box and can be done during NABOR office hours prior to the exchange date.

NEW TRID RESOURCES AVAILABLE ON REALTOR.ORG
NAR Is please to announce new resources to help REALTORS® prepare for the changes.  The CFPB has launched a new online toolkit for real estate professionals as part of its "Know Before You Owe" campaign.  CFPB uses the term "Know Before You Owe" for its consumer facing communications regarding TRID.  The new website is designed to help real estate professionals understand the changes to the closing process that will go into effect on October 3rd, 2015, and how to explain the changes to clients.  The site also includes resources that real estate professional can provide to their clients.

NABOR TAKES A POSITION ON SOUTH SANTA ROSA COUNTY LIQUOR LICENSING LAWS  
Three things are often cited as obstacles to attracting new restaurant and entertainment businesses to Navarre: the lack of lunchtime clientele, exorbitant tap fees and the inequitable liquor licensing laws.   Mainland restaurants and bars are unable to compete with their counterparts on the beach who enjoy more liberal  liquor sales and consumption restrictions.   This often acts as a deterrent to any new businesses.  The NABOR Board of Directors has unanimously approved the following position statement to address this inequality and in doing so, strives to create a level playing field which will make the Navarre mainland a more attractive proposition for new and existing businesses.

"The Navarre Area Board of Realtors® unanimously supports the creation of a fair and equitable policy that governs liquor sales in South Santa Rosa County .  Establishments on Navarre Beach enjoy far less restrictive licensing laws than their commercial counterparts on the mainland.  This inequity leads to an unfair trading advantage and is not conducive to the business friendly environment Santa Rosa County strives to create.  The Navarre Area Board of Realtors® asks the Commission to recognize that the entire area south of the Yellow River caters to tourists and families alike, and as such, all of its businesses should be afforded the same opportunities to thrive."
